Toddler Fest, a free children’s event, begins at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Anastasia Island Branch Library, 124 Sea Grove Main St.

Hosted by the Early Learning Coalition of Putnam and St. Johns counties (ELC), Toddler Fest activities will include a special story time program, music, games, crafts, balloon animals and face painting.

The event is open to the public and best suited for children aged two to five years.

Toddler Fest is sponsored by Kiwanis Club of St. Augustine and Nettles Fine Jewelry and will include a special guest appearance by Elmo of “Sesame Street.” Every child will be given a free age-appropriate book and bike helmets will be given to the first 100 children. Nemours Bright Start will provide literacy screenings and Project Buckle Up will be on hand to talk to parents about car seat safety.

“Past Toddler Fest events have been so successful,” said Joan Whitson, ELC’s Early Literacy coordinator. “These events are geared to inspire our smallest children toward learning and to provide great resources for their families. “
